About the Gulfstream IV
The GIV and GIV-SP, later sold as the G400, are the predecessors of the G450, with a similar cabin and slightly less range.
They remain popular for charter because they offer a large Gulfstream cabin at a lower rate than newer models.
Gulfstream IV Variants
These versions share the same basic design, so we cover them on one page. Tell us if you prefer a specific one.
Gulfstream GIV-SP
A GIV with higher weights and improved avionics; the most common version in charter fleets.
Gulfstream G400
The name Gulfstream gave the GIV-SP in its later years, before the G450 replaced it.
Is the Gulfstream IV Right for Your Trip?
Best For
- Trips of up to about 7 hours nonstop, such as Los Angeles to Aspen or New York to Miami
- Up to 14 passengers
- Groups of 10 to 16, or families traveling with a lot of luggage
Keep in Mind
- They need longer runways, so a few small airports are out of reach.
- On short trips a super-midsize is usually just as comfortable and costs much less.
