What Is Private Jet Charter?
Private jet charter is renting an entire aircraft, with its pilots, for your trip. You decide when to leave, which airports to use and who comes with you. There are no connections, no security lines and no fixed schedule: you arrive at a private terminal a few minutes before departure and board.
Charter is priced by the aircraft, not the seat. A light jet for four costs the same as a light jet for one, which is why charter is often good value for families, groups and teams.
Air1 Jets arranges charter flights as your agent. We find the right aircraft for your trip, check the operator and crew, and look after the details until you land. The flight itself is operated by an FAA Part 135 air carrier, or the local equivalent abroad.

Charter Services for Every Kind of Trip
Tell us what the trip is for and we will match the aircraft to it.
Business Travel
Fly to several cities in one day, work on board and land at airports close to your meetings. Roadshows, site visits and deal trips are simpler when the schedule is yours. Ask for Wi-Fi-equipped aircraft when you book.
Last-Minute Flights
We answer around the clock and can often have a confirmed aircraft ready on as little as 3 hours’ notice. How fast depends on where the nearest suitable jet and crew are, so call us as soon as you know you need to fly.
More on last-minute flightsLarge Groups
Heavy jets seat up to 16 passengers, and group charters use larger aircraft for weddings, company retreats, tours and family reunions. For very large groups we can split the party across two jets that arrive together.
More on large groupsSports Teams
Teams, coaching staff and equipment need aircraft with room for bags and gear, flexible departure times after games, and airports close to the venue. We plan full-season schedules as well as one-off tournament and playoff trips.
Team and group charterFlying with Pets
Most operators allow dogs and cats in the cabin with you, not in the hold. Rules vary by operator and aircraft, so tell us your pet’s size and breed and we will only offer aircraft that accept them. International trips need health papers; we tell you what the destination requires.

Ski trips, beach weeks and holidays without airline lines. Bring the car seats, skis and golf bags, and leave from a private terminal a few minutes from home.
International Charter
Nonstop flights to Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada and beyond, in jets with the range for the trip. We handle landing permits, customs arrangements and the passenger details operators must file before departure.
Events
The Super Bowl, the Masters, Formula 1, Art Basel and other big events fill airports quickly. We book early, pick the airport with the easiest access and make sure your return is confirmed.
One-Way Flights
You do not need to book a round trip. One-way charters suit long stays, and we price both options so you can compare.
Multi-City Trips
Several stops in one trip, priced as one itinerary. Flights on the same day share the daily minimum, which often makes a multi-leg trip better value than separate bookings.
Choose the Right Aircraft
Trip length and group size narrow the choice to one or two sizes. These are typical figures.
| Aircraft size | Seats | Nonstop range | Hourly rate | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Turboprop | 6–8 | About 1,036 miles | $2,500–$3,500 | Short hops, short runways, lots of luggage |

| Light jet | 5–7 | About 1,611 miles | $3,800–$5,500 | Regional trips such as New York to Florida |
| Midsize jet | 7–9 | About 2,302 miles | $4,800–$6,000 | Longer domestic trips with stand-up room |
| Super-midsize jet | 8–10 | About 3,452 miles | $6,000–$9,000 | Coast to coast nonstop |

Private Jet Charter Questions
What is private jet charter?
Private jet charter means renting a whole aircraft, with its crew, for your own trip. You choose the departure time, the airports and who flies with you, and you pay for the aircraft rather than per seat.
How many people can fly on a private jet?
From 4 or 5 on a very light jet to 19 on an ultra-long-range jet. Larger groups can fly on bigger aircraft or split across two jets.
How far in advance should I book a private jet?
We can often arrange a flight within 3 hours of confirming. For holidays, ski season and big events, booking one to four weeks ahead gives you more aircraft to choose from.
Can I bring my dog on a private jet?
Usually, yes. Most operators allow dogs and cats in the cabin. Tell us about your pet when you request a quote so we only show aircraft that accept them.
Do I need to go through TSA security?
On most charter flights you do not pass through airline security checkpoints. You drive to the private terminal, show ID and board. You still need valid ID, and a passport for international flights.
Can a private jet fly internationally?
Yes. Heavy and ultra-long-range jets fly nonstop from the US East Coast to Europe, and smaller jets reach Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. We arrange permits and customs for you.
Is Air1 Jets the operator?
No. Air1 Jets arranges your flight as your agent, and an FAA Part 135 air carrier, or the local equivalent abroad, operates it. We use operators with ARGUS or Wyvern safety ratings.
