Charter Terms, Explained

FBO
Fixed-base operator. The private terminal where you meet your aircraft, with a lounge, parking and ground handling.
Part 135
The FAA rules for on-demand commercial flights. US charters we arrange are flown by operators certified under these rules; abroad, by operators holding the local equivalent.
ARGUS and Wyvern
Independent aviation safety auditors. Their ratings look at pilot experience, maintenance and safety management.
Empty leg
A flight with no passengers booked, usually repositioning, sold as a discounted one-way trip.
Occupied hour
An hour flown with passengers on board. Quotes may also include unoccupied repositioning hours.
Tail number
The aircraft’s registration. We tell you the tail number before you fly so you know exactly which aircraft you are getting.
